Pilates strengthens your body and mind, it builds lean muscle, strengthens the Core and lower back, increases range of motion in all the joints, improves spinal mobility, flexibility, and posture. Think of Pilates as the workout that not only makes you strong but keeps you actively aging for years and years to come.
Reformer
What exactly is a “Reformer” Pilates class?
The reformer is a specialized exercise machine that is used to do thousands of different exercises. The reformer has multiple spring levels (think resistance training) that you can use to customize the strength level of the machine.
We recommend you start first with the Free 30-Minute Intro to Pilates Class. This reformer class will teach you how to use the Pilates reformer, top 5 staple reformer exercises, and Pilates essential movement principles.

Also don’t forget – grip socks are required for all classes – hygiene and safety first.
Class Levels & Descriptions
Intro to Pilates
A 30-min class that teaches you how to use the Pilates Reformer, top 5 staple exercises on the reformer, and Pilates essential movement principles. This class creates the foundation and language for all other classes.
Level 1
These classes are great for those wanting to learn the essential Pilates exercises and/or those that want a refresh.
Level 2
Our signature level class for those looking to deepen and challenge their Pilates routine.
Level 3
Experienced PULSE members only. We’re working with the advanced Pilates repertoire in this class.
Mixed Level
All levels welcome! This class gives variations from the beginner to the advanced. It is the wild card of the group. (Brand new to Pilates, please start with Intro to Pilates Class or a private session)
Mindful Mat
All levels Welcome! This is a Mat Pilates class offered 1x a week.
Classes will be added as the community grows. Keep checking the class schedule for more options to move.

How do I get started?
We like for new students to start first with either an Intro to Pilates Class or a private session. If you have reformer experience, you can start with a Level One group class.
The Pulse Pilates Schedule is listed on the website and in the APP. You can create an account via either the website or the APP and sign up for classes. The APP is available is the Apple Store and Google Play Store. Schedule a private session by calling or texting the studio 540-200-8705.

What to Bring
We require you to wear grip socks – you can wear your own or purchase a pair of grip socks in the studio.
What Do I Wear?
We recommend wearing Pilates and/or yoga clothing that you can move, bend, and sweat in. Wearing yoga and Pilates leggings, tees, and tanks allows your Coach to see your form and correct it easier. Grip socks are for sale at the studio, but you are more than welcome to rock your own pair. DO NOT WEAR: ZIPPERS, PERFUME, JEWELRY, LOTION – the equipment is made of leather and wood. This can cause damage to the equipment.
When to Arrive
Please arrive at least 5-10 minutes prior to class. If you arrive late to class, you maybe asked to reschedule for safety reasons.
Parking & Location Info
Parking is free and there is plenty of it! We have a huge parking lot beside the building. We are located 200 Country Club Dr SW Suite D3, Blacksburg, VA 24060. We are in BUILDING D.
Cancellations
There is a 24-hour cancellation policy. To cancel, login to your account via the APP or the Web. You are also welcome to text and/or call us at 540-200-8705. Please note, if you cancel less than 24 hours this is considered a late cancel and the session is forfeited and fully charged.
Safety Policy
By attending our Studio and participating in our Pilates classes, you will be performing physical activity and exercise which has an inherent risk of personal injury. Participating in our classes is done at your own risk. You must inform us and our Coaches if you have any injury, illnesses, discomfort or are pregnant before participating in classes.
